Breakdown - What is PUBG?

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or “PUBG” for short, is at its core, a Battle Royale game.

Battle Royale typically means 100 players leap from a plane and parachute to different
locations on a large scale map.
The objective is simple, be the last player (or squad) standing by any means necessary.
How you survive and how you choose to play the game is up to you.
All players begin the game with nothing to defend themselves.
You must search buildings and nearby areas for weapons, armor and healing items.
This is referred to as “looting” and is typically the very first thing you do after
landing.
At the start of every match, Loot is randomly distributed around the map.
While some areas are more likely to have better loot, you never know what you’ll find in
any given location.
It’s your choice to parachute into a crowded and dangerous location with large quantities
of loot or landing somewhere quiet with lower quantities of loot.
The loot you obtain throughout the match might affect how you play the game.
You only found a shotgun?
Then focus on short range encounters.
Found a rifle and a 8x scope?
Explore the mountains and pick off players from a distance.
Early in the game and shortly after looting, a large circle will be placed randomly onto
the map.
This circle is the new Play Area for all players.
Once inside this circle, the game will continue as normal.
The area outside of the circle is called the Blue Zone.
If you are caught inside the blue zone, your health will slowly drain until you have no
more left.
The play area will continue to reduce in size in phases.
This encourages you to keep moving and it also makes it difficult to stay to hidden
for too long.
Of course, there is a lot more to PUBG than simply staying within the play area.
Utilizing the environment around you is essential.
Whether that be hiding inside of a building, using trees as cover, or finding a hilltop
to snipe unsuspecting foes.
It’s all fair game.
The sounds you make throughout the match will play a large role in your survival.
Running through a field, firing your weapon, driving a truck down the road or simply walking
up a set of stairs.
If another player is close by, your presence will be obvious.
But making loud noises can’t always be avoided.
You have to walk up stairs, you have to defend yourself and sometimes you need to get somewhere
fast.
Vehicles are randomly scattered across every map.
You can find 4x4 off-road vehicles, motorcycles, buggies, vans and more, each with different
capacities, top speeds and durability.
On top of land vehicles, you can also find various water vehicles like boats and jetskis
scattered around the edge of the islands.
In Battle Royale, being the last player standing is the ultimate goal.
You may not win at first but if you can quickly loot an area, mastering your favorite weapon, and survive into the top 10, you’ll land that # 1 spot in no time.
Good luck and we’ll see you on the battlegrounds
